Selecting the Right Program in Spain

Spain offers many study options and with so many options available, selecting just one is a difficult task. Adequate research, planning and the right timing and advice can land you in the institution and the course of your choice.
 
Before applying, make sure about the course and institution you want to get in. Abide by these steps-

Decide and Research 

Know about your goals and decide what course you would want to take on. At the outset of the study abroad procedure, know about the reasons to study abroad, scope and opportunities. Then research the course/program. Google about it. Know all the relevant details. Check with the University and jot down the universities that offer the courses you’re looking for.

Select the course 

Choose the course and location (e.g. undergraduate or postgraduate-Master or doctoral). Check admission requisites, dates and deadlines and other relevant things like Extracurriculars, credit system, and more.

Academic Requirements

The academic requirements in Spain vary depending upon the level of education you want to study. Institutions have different admittance requisites, so read the course information on their website carefully and contact them to ask for advice.

For Bachillerato: Admittance is based on the ESO (Certificate of Secondary Education) certificate obtained through compulsory secondary education

For Vocational Education/Training: Admittance is based on the ESO certificate obtained through compulsory secondary education

For Undergraduate Studies- Bachelor Degree Admissions: Students should have successfully completed higher secondary school and should hold a valid leaving certificate from the institution attended.

For Postgraduate Studies- Master’s and Doctoral Degree Admission: For admittance to a Master’s degree program, students must hold a relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent diploma.
For admittance to a doctoral degree program, students should hold a Master’s degree.

Apply to Accredited Institutions  

The accrediting authority assesses the educational program for quality, and certifies that the institution conforms to a minimum set of standards. Therefore, it is important to ascertain that the institution to which you are applying are accredited by a recognized accrediting authority.

Apply for Scholarships or Grants and Student Visa

Check about the different scholarships or grants available in Spain. Know about the dates and deadlines, requirements of those scholarship programs.

Once you get the admission and receive the acceptance letter from the institution, apply for student visa at the Spain Embassy/Consulate at your place of residence. Apply on time with necessary documentation.

Reminder Call

The time has come to get on the airplane and head to Spain. keep in mind the following things before leaving- 
  • Take your Visa and Passport. They are must!
  • Carry your birth certificate with you upon leaving.
  • Take your Social Security Card along with photo identification.
  •  Have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC).
  • Make accommodation arrangements before your departure.
